SwARC offers TWC Rapid Aging, Conversion Rate Evaluation, Mechanical Performance Test Services, etc, according to national and industrial standard test procedures such as GB/T18377,HJ/T331-2006, etc and special test procedures entrusted by clients. 1. TWC Rapid Aging A. On engine bench: Typical testing parameters No. | Engine Fuel Injection | Time Frame/s | Temp. /℃ | λ | Space Velocity (SV) / h-1 | Duration/h | 1 | Normal | 60 | 800 (could be suggested by clients) | 1±0.02 | 60 000 | 100 | 2 | Fuel-cut or air supply | 5 | 1.3±0.1 |
B. On FOCAS In theory, thermal aging is mainly affected by temperature and time duration. R-FOCAS, developed by SwRI, uses a quartz burner instead of an engine to produce exhaust gas, and simulates poisoning by injecting lubrication oil into the burner. R-FOCAS is accurate in data acquisition and control (±0.02AFR).Aging cycles with extremely high temperature (1200℃) can be run on FOCAS Rig. Typical testing parameters No. | Conditions | Time Frame/s | Manual Controlled Parameters | Bed Temp. /℃ | Space Velocity / h-1 | Dura- tion/h | 1 | Standard mixed gases | 40 | Φa=1±0.02 | 800 | 60 000 | 100 | 2 | Thick mixed gases | 5 | Φa≈0.91 Concentration of CO: 3% | — | 3 | Thick mixed gases + air supply | 10 | Thick: No.2; Air supply: No.4 | 890±10 | 4 | Standard mixed gases + air supply | 5 | Concentration of O2: 3% | — |
