The sixth session of the first board meeting of SwARC was held in Detroiton April 18, 2008. Mr.Zhao Hang(director of CATARC), Mr.J Dan Bates(president of SwRI), and the board members of SwARC attended the meeting. The Business Report of prior period was presented and the future projects, such as importing new equipment, updating and building testing abilities, expanding testing room etc, were disposed at the meeting.

Replying the invitation of SAE International, Mr. Zhao Hang, Mr.Zhang Jianwei(vice director of CATARC) and other 4 people attended SAE 2008 Word Congress before the meeting. CATARC delegation met Dr. Thomas W. Ryan (chairman of SAE 2008), who is an engineer from the Engine and Emissions Research Division of SwRI and holds great interest in the joint venture company, had an informal discussion with the related persons in charge of SAE and presented in related technical exchange meetings.

CATARC delegation attended the grand banquet of SAE on April 17. Mr. Zhao Hang and J Dan Bates showed up with some 60 important CEOs, which shows the influence of SwRI and CATARC in the international automobile industry.
